Who Am I?:
Hi! I'm Salman Dhaif, an artist and filmmaker living in Central London. I graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a Bachelor's Degree in Animation and was recently a product designer for Marvel Entertainment.
I was born and raised in the UK and have spent almost all my life in love with animation and cinema since I was a child, watching VHS tapes of cartoons and movies on a tiny TV in the corner of my bedroom. With my love for these two mediums, I'm dedicated to following my passion as an artist and animator. My main influences are animation legends such as Hayao Miyazaki, Satoshi Kon, Shinichiro Watanabe, Genndey Tartakovsky and Brad Bird.
Although I keep the audience in mind when creating new art and animation from scratch, I always feel that the hardest audience to impress is myself because of how deeply addicted I am to creating captivating animated storytelling that it can be hard to be satisfied until it's done properly.
I understand that to work within a team to produce an animated project means respecting, being patient, and sharing good communication, which is what I'm capable of. But even as a team member, I'm confident to meet the ideal creative vision of the project that a team sets out to create while using my own imaginative skill and mindset to achieve that without any limits.
Outside of work, I enjoy sketching in my own time, playing games, reading comics and manga as well as hanging out with mates. Besides that, I use my spare time to explore the world and the people within it to develop new ideas of original worldbuilding, characters and storytelling.
